i can answer it for you, it sounds awesome. although i dont really know, but im sure it does.
It probably doesn't sound like Ozma, though.
yeah i would have to agree with you, its probably not going to sound like the ozma we are used to, unless they have d song on it, i think that sounds like old ozma. but im sure no matter what they put out i will like it, even if it doesnt sound like the ozma i learned to love.
so far it sounds like drums.

I mean they could just be playing for fun, but becuase Ken is on the guitar and ryen is on a bass is it possibly a song of kenns that they are messing with?

Lol, you said it brother.
i want to hear at least a little bit of clips from some more of the new tracks.
They're probably just screwing around. It's fun to play other instruments sometimes. Though it is hard to say, they did some stuff like that on the last album after all. Looked pretty chill in those pictures though.
Good to see Andrew Bird has decided to join in on the recordings.

i don't know if you're ever recorded an album before, but usually drums come first, bass second, and guitars third... hence the video of drumming. if you'd rather nothing at all, i could do that too.
stay tuned... more videos of kenn coming soon.
I dunno hipsun, the way I record is I start with the overdubs, then I do the vocals. Drums usually go on somewhere in post.
you always record drums first - at least a basic beat.

Drums programmed via MicroKorg, correct?
Incorrect. The MicroKorg has no sequencer, let alone drum sounds. My beats are sequenced in FL studio. I use primarily TR909 samples and homemade samples from my SR-16 (which isn't that stellar a drum machine, but it's got some good punchy sounds in it. I rarely sequence on the actual drum machine, too much of a pain in my ass). I plan on heading into my friend's basement studio to record professional quality songs with him providing live drums. Anyway, that answers anybody's questions about my drums. This thread, however, is not about my music, and there is a good reason for that (my music is very boring). Anyway, I thought the idea of recording "overdubs" before any actual base level recording was absurd enough to qualify it as a joke, but I apologize for any ambiguity.

If I'm not mistaken, that guitar Dan is playing is one of those $30 First Act child's guitars that you can buy at Walmart. In fact, I have the exact one sitting here beside me. Though I converted it to a baritone ukulele because the strings were too close together for my large fingers.
Edit: You know, maybe not. On re-watching it looks slightly bigger than mine. So, perhaps not.

It's a nylon string guitar. As a rule, nylon string guitars run much smaller in size than your average steel string. Another give away is that it's got the slotted headstock with sideways mounted tuning machines. Any steel string guitar at that size would most likely be a fairly cheap guitar, but it's near impossible (unless you recognize the brand, which I don't) to speculate on the value of it. That could likely be an very expensive high quality guitar. The FirstAct ones, if I'm not mistaken, are all steel string guitars. I bought my girlfriend one that's shaped like a strawberry for christmas.
Ethan just got a First Act guitar. It has flames on it.
Its funny how FirstAct's most excessible gear for the public are those crappy walmart packs, yet their other guitars/basses are $2000+ custom shop models used by various professionals. Why is there such a gap in quality?

i kind of like that though. To be fair, their cheap instruments aren't that bad, they are just cheap and the features reflect that.

I did not know that.
Yeah it is definately pretty unique, its just that FirstAct gets a lot of flack because people don't know about their custom shop. And if anyone like Casey is interested, you can design and buy a custom guitar/bass at their site. Pretty cool. Expensive.

"superstar" by the carpenters
"i'll get you" by the beatles
some folk riffing by daniel

However "they may" does equal more than just one song, and it often means more than two, in fact the way you say it to me makes it sound like your saying ALL.

yes. it seems like they spliced it in half (a section of it) and scattered it in the video. it's sounding very, very good.

The fact that its not whole songs is what makes it cool and watchable.
I surely don't want to see Star and Daniel hanging out in someones room on a fixed camera angle listening to 20 minutes of them noodling through songs.

Yeah. But if anyone in the band would be caught playing on video, I could see Jose playing it. But yeah, then there was that Coheed mention by Ryen.

is asking if qouting is necessary any more necessary than quoting?

no, i do not believe that it is "necessary", although i do believe it works just as much either way. so just because i choose to click on "quote" rather than "reply" it really doesn't make a difference either way.
