so i have a friend that wants an ozma sampler of sorts. what kind of songs should i add to demonstrate the prowess of which that is known as ozma?

k24

you know the story
wake up
continental drift
spending time
baseball
gameover
no one needs to know
domino effect
rocks
come home andrea
curve in old 1-9
landing of course

and if they want to listen to some crazy wacko talented high school  composer who uses full knowledge of impressionism , then give them daniel brummel's string quartet and trio

edit:

;)

returnofdisco

game over
shootingstars
if I only had a heart
no one needs to know
spending time
domino effect
light years will burn
landing of the yuri gagarin
in search of 1988
korobeniki

that's just my opion because I feel that these songs have that distinct ozma sound (real casio sounding).
yeah
but most of all I fear you'd see, parts of me buried for centuries

gloom-glaam

Domino Effects
Apple Tree
Shooting Stars
No One Needs To Know

No one has mentioned Battlescars yet? :o

Yeah, this my first Ozma song I'd ever heard.  At the time, I thought it was a little "too hard" since I was used to stuff like Ben Folds and my 80s Mix CDs...  But then I figured out I was just being really stupid.

Kurtzie

Yeah I don't feel thats a good starter song. Just like I love restart and I don't think it would be on a first mix either.
Everything will work out as long as you do whatever you want with out worring about the consequences.

Jordan

most people really like "rocks" cuz its really catchy and poppy.

you're as cold as ice.

gloom-glaam

and as far as "whoa!"s go
they do a really darn good job

Sandguy

thanks guys. those lists are all great. i'll decide on one. i may use kris' list, it looks like a good representation except i'll fit battlescars right before domino effect.

If you're going to have You Know The Story and Landing...You gotta put them one right after the other, for the story leads into Landing...annnnd...you just gotta.

Rome

wait ryan unless you already made it you should make sure that the acoustic version of gameover is on it. (the one on RRp3). Also, include wake up, reastart, shooting stars, immigration song, you know the story/landing, continental drift, lorraing, either version of rain of the golden gorilla (although I would also go with the acoustic version), natalie portman, and battlescars.

Nordel

I would advise that instead of giving him a mix tape just give him a copy of an album. Start with RRP3 and work on up to STOTB. It's much better to experience each album. At least in my opinion.

That's a really good point, and I second that.

That's what I did for my girlfriend.
She's comin to the 3/12 show with me, and she's had RRP3 for a few months, and I just burned her DDD and STOTBL, so we'll see how that works out.

She's like "What..you givin me homework?! Geez" Ha
