i rather like that.

it occured to me while I was seeing ozma recently that I've now seen 4 ozma line ups.

ozma classic:  dan, ryen, jose, star, pat
ozma twist:  dan, ryen, jose, mary, pat
yes ozma  :  nate, schmedly, ryen, jose, star, pat
ozma 2.0:  dan, ryen, jose, star, ken

known line ups I never saw:  alkaline ozma, keyboardless ozma

When did you see them with Mary?

you're familiar with Mary?  I realize I don't know her last name, so I can't be more specific, but she was the backup keyboardist that toured with them a lot through 2002ish.  I saw her with Ozma in May of 2002 when they toured with Rilo Kiley.  I can't recall Star's exact reason for missing that tour, although I think it may have been school related.

Car accident, I believe.  They played a number of Warped Tour shows with Mary, as well, though I remember Star being there in SF (very early July '02).

The car accident was what kept her off Warped tour, but there was another reason that she wasn't on the Rilo Kiley tour.  I remember the car accident happened right before the Warped Tour started, leaving them scrambling for a replacement (which is why the dude from alk3 played with them for a brief stint).

No, I don't know anything about Mary, I just know of her, so I was curious what shows you'd gone to that she played it.  I couldn't remember when or why she covered for Star.

Anyway, thanks!

Very early on they did.

I saw all of the same ozma-versions as you Jason.
Mary was with ozma while Star finished up at Pepperdine (i think).
Mary was so cute.
Her last name was Guilliams or Gilliams, i forget. They played the cheerleader version of Tetris with her on Warped Tour, that was cool.

Wasn't that just for recording? She didn't actually tour with them did she?

EDIT: And I believe all she did was synth.

yes i did, but i wouldn't consider her as part of ozma's line up for that show.  my criteria to earn that title is that the line up has to play a complete set and be billed as ozma.  rachel haden (no y) would be a guest star in that example.
