I noticed something a long time ago, on the record, and apparently it's done live too.

But at the beginning of Flight of the Bootymaster...it goes:
Ryen: Wesley Willis, starts to break down....
Dan: Fuck, Fuck, Fuck (softly)
Ryen: Feels the beat and, hits the dance floor

Funny stuff. And I've always taken it as just that "Fuck fuck fuck". Can anyone else verify. I've never thought to ask anyone before. But I like it.

I've always heard it as "F-f-f-" (as in a stuttered f sound).

Think more "F-F-F-Feels the beat and..."

The "aw, shit" stuff has been a live embellishment as of late, and not limited to just "Eponine."  Seems to be just whenever he feels like it up there.

One other thing...regarding Domino Effect. At least on the album...does anyone else hear, real soft, in the background, during that break-drum solo thing, at about :54..."Olly-oop..Let's Go!"
"Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a pizza in my mouth."

hey.

sometimes we play songs live before the lyrics are finished, to figure out what works and what doesn't.  the chorus i sang on this new song was just temporary, and other sections may still change as well.  it's cool to read your different interpretations of the lyrics though, they made me rethink my approach.  FYI here is what i was trying to sing at the show:

--------------------

lie detector's on the blink
so comfort me with doublethink
and let's put wallpaper up between our ears
over the years
as my attention span disappears
blink and it's gone
a moment has never seemed so long

i'm still dreaming of clock towers and synchronicity
you call it coincidence, i call it common sense
the truth will set you free if you've been slave to a lie

i'm waiting for a chance to make it known
i'm gonna be the one who keeps you from being alone
i call i call i call i call, but no one ever --

it used to be political
but now our state is critical
so let's put wallpaper up between our ears
once it was clear
maybe i lost it over the years
maybe it's here
buried beneath the dirt of fear
maybe it's still here

i'm still dreaming of clock towers and synchronicity
you call it coincidence, i call it common sense
the truth will set you free if you've been slave to a lie

i'm still dreaming of sound waves
that oscillate and amplify the feeling of nothingness
oh what a subtle bliss
the truth will set you free if you've been slave to a lie

i'm waiting for a chance to make it known
i'm gonna be the one who keeps you from being alone
i've seen it all before but i still can't tell
so you better ask somebody who knows

i'm waiting for the chance to make it known
i'm gonna be the one who keeps you from being alone
i've seen it all before but i still can't tell
so you better ask somebody who knows
you better ask somebody who knows

If you listen to the start of flight of the bootymaster you hear a really loud and annoying "YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"  That's me standing next to billy, then turning and looking at him, realizing he has a microphone protruding from his chest, then running away in shame.
The light cast dark shadows all around me

From the Rutger's Review, via Info>Press section:

Review: Having grown up in Southern California, what inspired the recent move to New York?

Daniel: I love L.A. and have lots of family and friends there, but it was time for a change of pace. My fiancée is in her senior year at Columbia so I wanted to support her. Plus I've become really interested in concepts like synchronicity, which really seems to flourish in a place with so much psychic energy floating around.
