Wow, it has been years since I've visited this website, and I couldn't even remember my old log in....

Anyhow. I've been waiting to here Pasadena for a while now and have been looking forward to May 15th. Well, today I was just browsing through the zune marketplace (similar to iTunes, but owned by Microsoft) and found Pasadena is already up and they released it on April 24th.

Its up and available to buy now. Or if you're like me with a Zune Pass... download for free then I'll be buying the album on the 15th.

Just thought I'd drop you guys a heads up.

Thanks!

And good for you!  --I heard Microsoft is actually a decent company to work for.  Mind if I ask how you got your job!?

mike

are albums purchased off zune just regular mp3s?  can I put them on my iTunes?  will they play on an iPod?  Is this guy your boss?
I'M YELLING AT YOU BECAUSE I DON'T RESPECT YOU!

I don't think he said he worked for Microsoft. The file types are Windows Media with DRM. I'm not sure if an iPod can play them (I actually doubt it, without some serious drm hacking and recoding)

Oh c'mon, Joe!  You know this guy is spamming us up!  I know it's not a giant-donged Asian from Ashlee Simpson, but this's still got to be spam.

wtwhtalmh

Or Joe could be right and I could just simply be a fellow ozma fan that noticed a retailer broke the street date of an album we are all looking forward to by two full weeks.

Just happened to be some information that one ozma fan might expect another ozma fan to enjoy.

Though, if you want to write this post off as microsoft spam, fine with me. I just wasn't aware of a single other retailer in the entire country currently selling this album (other than ozma live shows).

The Other Mike

yeah, I don't know where you got the microsoft employee thing... granted, nobody owns a zune, but if the album's there it's hardly spam.

Untrue, my housemate Tony has one.  So they sold at least one.

Well forgive me and welcome to the forum!  I'm sure you can see where I made my error though...

First post ever:  "Hey guys, check out this great site.  I forgot about it, but it has something you want.  Go check out this website that no one has ever heard of before and spend money on it."

But, I am indeed sorry for the confusion--unless you truly are just an advanced bot designed to have feelings and deliver ownage.

Thanks for the info!

You've never heard of the Zune Marketplace before? Open up Windows Media Player, click on Zune... there it is

Hey, did you hear about this newfangled thing called iTunes? Weeeeird, I don't know if I trust them. Seems sketchy. I hear they're selling TV Shows you could have just watched on cable. WTH?

Dude!  C'mon!  I'm not the only one who thought he was spamming the forums!

I don't even have WMV, and I'm damn proud of it.

And dude, cable isn't free, Apple is just attacking the cable company Monopoly.  Now we have a choice of where to get our shitty TV shows.  You gotta respect that.  (lol, I'm kidding, lol, right?)

Don't worry about it man. I mainly post only at one forum which is a gaming forum... and we have had a few people come along every once in a where it is obvious they are getting paid by someone. I know it happens.

I actually own one as well, so that makes two. My ipod broke and I was looking for a new mp3 player. I wasn't happy with how horribly slow itunes runs in windows so I looked away from apple and bought a Zune. I like it, though its got its problems as it is a 1st generation device. They just need to add built in podcasting support in the zune software.... so annoying using rss aggregators.

anyway... i can't stand the zune marketplace and ipod music store. I hate having one store tied to one device, its just stupid. I refuse to buy anything in either store because how do I know which device will be better at any given time? For this I just use the zune pass where you basically rent your music. Just pay 15 a month and download everything you want. Once you stop paying you lose everything.

Long story short, Pasadena is on the zune marketplace. I greatly enjoyed the album.

I wonder if Ozma gave them some sort of exclusivity to do that, or permission at all. If not, they could easily sue.

SUE THEM, OZMA! PLEASE!

Samuel you are an idiot if you missed those two months of zune ipod killer hype. It was all over google news. And actually, Zune was quite promising at first, until the real details started trickling in and how MS completely crippled Zune's features. (ie, wireless sharing of songs to friends. sounded really good at first. Then it was revealed that song could only be played 3 times, and the person who bought the tune it couldn't share it again). For someone who spends a decent amount of his time online, you really are oblivious.

anyways, joe, would it be playable on an ipod with Fairplay?

Well, Rome, I don't think being uninterested in uninteresting news makes me an "idiot."  But thanks for suggesting that.  While your life revolves around Google; (it makes you feel like an individual to customize your iGoogle, you use image Google search for pornography when you're feeling lonely, you've made it your job to promote Googlemaps to Mapquest users, and you've completely run out of your initial 100 gmail invites--though only because you have 100 alternate gmail addresses for yourself, ie, romeisabigdick & Romanl00kingforMEN & SexyRomanStud_I69(dudes) & ASSRomeHOLE & RO_MANLOVER & romantheTOOL & RomeIsPathetic2, etc) my life has a bit more substance to keep me from getting sucked into all that.  Sorry.  It sure sounds tempting, romanlicious @gmail.com.

Rome

gadammit samuel!  :D
is it possible for anyone to mention a company in your presence without you calling them a shill?

I said google news because google is the most popular search engine. I'm sure just about every entertainment publication has mentioned the zune in the past 6 months.

What, just because you're an indie filmer  means anyone else who knows anything about anything is part of a big corporation viral marketing scheme? Come off it. Why don't you just BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't say I know for sure (lol@ PlaysFORSURE) that the music will work on an iPod. I know iTunes has to convert all WMAs to MP3 or M4A before it can play them - but does that mean it will decode DRM-encrypted ones? I don't have the answer to that.

shit i meant fairuse, not fairplay. But I think it's been answered.

Yeah the playforsure support (or lack thereof) rendered the zune worthless. The whole business model is just like the Ipod's, except people actually buy ipods. Rediculous.

I Like Ozma
